Bluntly putting it, ghetto behavior has no place when you serve the people.
Being a police officer has one tremendous responsibility attached to it: being a professional. Lately it seems there is a growing trend among black cops that act anything but professional while they represent police officers across America.
Over this last decade we have seen a massive decline in the appearance, language, and behavior of cops on our streets all due to the drop in hiring standards and the increase in DEI which has all but eliminated good candidates from even applying in the first place.
But what happens when we allow other cultures to infiltrate the profession and change the model of behavior? TikTok and social media has made it clear that command staffs across America do not care when their officers violate department polices on social media nor do they do anything about correcting the behavior of officers who embarrass the badge when they film themselves.
“Black culture” seems to be one of these issues. A culture saturated with a progressed level of Ebonics, hip hop music and dancing with attention seeking behavior, has made police officers of color the targets of racial profiling. How can it not? If I see a group of black men and women, in police uniform, dancing as if they are getting read to hunt the lions of the great African planes or they are on stage at the strip club, how can I, as a white male, feel safe that my interaction with them will be professional and fair?
Yes, this is absolutely “Black Culture” for those who will cry “this is racist!” as it is attached to the black men and women of America, the same as trailer park meth labs are attached to Whites. It needs to be pointed out, called out and shamed so that the officers from this community act in the professionalism that is expected of them while wearing a badge.
The question still remains: does this behavior, which seems to be exclusive to the black community, belong in the service of police departments across America?
